Our January lunch featured Jon Bostock, chief operating officer for Big Ass Fans, who shared his company‚Äôs journey from startup to success. He talked about its business model and values, growth to date and the company’s future plans.

Bostock joined Big Ass Fans in 2016 as its first COO. He made an immediate impact by implementing a metric-driven corporate management system, an initiative that resulted in the company’s most profitable year ever.

Previously, he spent more than a decade at General Electric Co. in key leadership positions, including general manager of GE Consumer Ventures with a product portfolio representing $2 billion in annual sales. Bostock also overhauled the market bellwether’s Trademark Licensing and Partnerships group, creating a vastly more efficient operation, striking new partnerships with iconic brands including Shinola and Mattel, and launching a connected lighting platform representing $2 million in incremental revenue.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Guilford College and MBA from LSU. In his free time, Bostock enjoys creating abstract art and spending time with his wife and two sons.
